December 11

The 800 and 900 blocks of Royal Street sidewalks were not removed and replaced due to safety hazards with shallow electrical conduits. Entergy representatives reported the existing conduits in these blocks immediately below the existing concrete sidewalk.

Through the use of alternative methods of concrete removal and coordinating closely with Entergy, it has been determined there will be additional sidewalk removal and replacement in the 800 and 900 blocks of Royal Street.

The contractor will engage the services of a utility locator and Entergy. Once the conduit location is determined, the concrete sidewalk will be removed and replaced and the stone curb reset, where possible.

The areas of sidewalk marked with white arrows will be removed and replaced beginning Wednesday, December 12.

If you have any questions, please call 1-800-574-7193, mail P.O. Box 56845, New Orleans, LA 70156-6845, or email paths2progress@gmail.com.

A message from Film New Orleans:

“On Thursday, September 27th, from approximately 6:00 am – 11:59 pm, we will be “on location”–– filming scenes for an upcoming feature length film. Our location is at the corner of Royal Street and St. Ann, located in the French Quarter. There will be intermittent traffic control between the hours of 6pm and 10pm during the filming on Royal Streetbetween Dumaine and Orleans, and St. Ann between Bourbon and Chartres. Times of filming are approximately 6:00 am to 12:00 midnight. Please be aware of the “No Parking” signs posted.

-600-700 blocks of St. Ann                               -700-800 blocks of Royal St.*

-800 Block of Chartres St.                                -600 block of Dumaine St.

-700 block of Orleans St.                                  -700 block of Bourbon St.

Our company understands that this is an inconvenience. Especially with the “Paths to Progress” redevelopment of the French Quarter streets. We did our best, to only take non-resident parking; i.e. loading zones & parking meters. It is gratefully appreciated that we are allowed to film in your beautiful city, and are exceedingly thankful for your hospitality. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

This filming is being done with the knowledge and cooperation of the Mayor's Office of Cultural Economy / Film New Orleans, and the New Orleans Police Department. For more information, contact Katie Williams at Film New Orleans (504-658-0923 / www.filmneworleans.org).”
