• What is Paths to Progress and what does it mean to southeast Louisiana?
  Paths to Progress is a transportation improvement program to rehabilitate, restore and enhance more than 60 roadway segments in Orleans and Jefferson parishes. With a combined investment of over $90 million, Paths to Progress is a collaborative effort between the Federal Highway Administration, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, New Orleans Regional Planning Commission and City of New Orleans.
• What parishes have been identified for road repair?
  More than sixty road segments in Jefferson and Orleans parishes.
• How will the streets be repaired?
  Roadways under Paths to Progress will be repaired by milling off old pavement, full depth pavement patching for any area of the roadway that has failed, and repaving new asphalt to a depth sufficient to meet the traffic demands on each roadway. In addition, ADA-compliant accessible ramps will be installed at every corner of project areas.
• How is the Paths to Progress funded?
  The program is funded by the Emergency Relief Program of the Federal Highway Administration thru the Department of Transportation and Development, New Orleans Regional Planning Commission, and the City of New Orleans.
• What is the cost of Paths to Progress?
  Repairs under Paths to Progress are being made at an investment of more than $90 million.
• How were the roads selected Paths to Progress?
  Based on the post Katrina and Rita visual and structural testing and evaluation analysis, the Regional Planning Commission worked with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to identify and select roads in need of repair. Roadways selected were required to be a part of the Federal Aid route, as well as meet FHWA rehabilitation requirements.
• When will the road repairs be completed?
  Paths to Progress is an ongoing program. The public is encouraged to monitor the updates and changes to the project schedule or call the program information line at 1-800-574-7193 with specific questions or concerns.
• Will the roads be repaired and then torn up again?
  Every effort is being made to establish coordination among other agencies engaged in street and utility repair projects. Significant planning and communication efforts have been established to coordinate Paths to Progress and other street programs going on throughout the region to minimize the inconvenience to neighborhoods, motorists and local businesses.
